1. Who We Are and Who This Policy Covers

IB Global Academy is the Data Fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy. We provide educational and related services through our website and associated platforms.

Address: 4th Floor, Urbana Business Park, Tower A, Sector 67, Gurugram, Haryana, India.

This Privacy Policy applies to the personal data of everyone we interact with, including website visitors, students, parents or guardians, prospective customers, employees, faculty and vendors, where relevant.

Questions, requests or grievances relating to this Privacy Policy or your personal data may be sent to privacy@ibglobalacademy.org.

2. What "personal data" means

Personal data is any information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you — such as your name, contact details, or an identifier like a customer ID. Some personal data is more sensitive (for example financial information, health information, or a child's data), and we handle it with extra care, as described in this policy.

3. The Personal Data We Collect and Why

We collect personal data only where it is reasonably necessary to provide and manage our educational services, communicate with you, maintain our platforms, meet legal or regulatory requirements, and protect the security and integrity of our services. We process personal data on the basis of consent, legitimate uses permitted under applicable law, or where processing is otherwise required or authorised by law.

Depending on how you interact with us, the personal data we may collect includes: name and contact details; student and parent/guardian information; account and login information; enrolment and course details; attendance records; academic information, assignments, assessments and results; communications with us; class-related records and recordings, where applicable; payment and transaction information; and technical or usage information relating to our website, applications or platforms.

We use this information to provide and personalise educational services; manage enrolments, classes and academic support; communicate with students and parents/guardians; process payments; maintain attendance and academic records; improve our services and platforms; provide customer and technical support; prevent misuse or security incidents; and comply with applicable legal, regulatory and administrative requirements.

4. Where We Collect Your Data From

We collect personal data directly from you, for example when you enquire about our services, register for a demo or trial class, enrol, create an account, attend classes, submit assignments or assessments, make a payment, complete a form or contact us.

We may also collect certain information automatically when you use our website, applications or platforms, such as device and usage information.

Where relevant and permitted by law, we may receive personal data from parents or guardians, schools, authorised representatives, service providers or other third parties involved in providing our services.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable law. Different categories of personal data may be retained for different periods depending on the nature of the information and the purpose for which it is used.

We may retain certain information for legal, tax, accounting, contractual, academic, security, dispute-resolution or other legitimate business purposes. Where processing is based on consent, withdrawal of consent will not affect processing already carried out, and we may retain information where required or permitted by law.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Non-essential cookies are set only with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent or change your browser settings at any time.

7. Your choices and marketing preferences

You are in control of your personal data. You can: opt out of marketing emails or messages at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting privacy@ibglobalacademy.org.; manage cookie preferences in your browser; and withdraw any consent you have given, as easily as you gave it. You may also ask us to close your account — when you do, we stop processing your personal data except where a law requires us to keep some of it.

8. How We Keep Your Data Secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These measures may include appropriate access controls, secure transmission and storage practices, authentication measures and monitoring, depending on the nature and sensitivity of the data.

We require service providers that process personal data on our behalf to implement appropriate security measures and process such data only for authorised purposes and in accordance with our instructions and applicable law.

If a personal data breach occurs, we will take appropriate steps to contain and address it and will make any notifications required under applicable law.

9. Who We Share Your Data With

We may share personal data only where necessary to provide and manage our services, operate our platforms, meet legal or administrative requirements, or protect our legitimate interests.

Depending on the purpose, personal data may be shared with authorised employees, faculty or academic personnel; payment, hosting, technology, communication or video-conferencing service providers; professional advisers such as legal, accounting or audit providers; and other service providers that support our operations.

We require service providers processing personal data on our behalf to use it only for authorised purposes and to apply appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable law.

We do not sell personal data.

10. Legal and Compelled Disclosure

We may disclose personal data where required or permitted by applicable law, including in response to a lawful court order, regulatory requirement or request from a government or law-enforcement authority.

We may also disclose personal data where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of IB Global Academy, our students, employees or others; prevent or investigate fraud, misuse or unlawful activity; or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We will limit such disclosures to information that is reasonably necessary and legally permitted.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website or services may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not operate or control.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.

We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party website or service you access through our platform.

12. Children’s Data

Where personal data relates to a child under the age applicable under law, we take additional care in collecting and processing such information. In India, where required, we obtain verifiable consent from the child’s parent or lawful guardian before processing the child’s personal data.

Where relevant, personal data may also be provided by a parent or guardian, school or other authorised representative for the purpose of providing educational services.

We use children’s personal data only for legitimate educational, administrative, safety, support and related service purposes and do not use such data for targeted advertising to children.

Parents or lawful guardians may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s personal data, subject to applicable law and any information we are required or permitted to retain.

United States — COPPA: Where applicable, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in the United States without verifiable parental consent, in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

13. Your Rights under the DPDP Act (India)

  • obtain information about the personal data we process and how it is being used;
  • request correction, completion or updating of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • request erasure of personal data, subject to applicable legal or retention requirements;

14. If You Are in the European Union / EEA — GDPR

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to our processing of your personal data, we may process your personal data on the basis of your consent, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Where applicable, you may have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data; restrict or object to its processing; request data portability; and not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.

Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we will use appropriate safeguards as required under applicable law.

Where required under Article 27 of the GDPR, IB Global Academy will designate an appropriate representative in the European Union and provide the relevant contact details in this Privacy Policy.

You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. We encourage you to contact us first so that we have an opportunity to address your concern.

Where applicable, you may also have the right to opt out of certain uses or disclosures of personal information and to exercise your privacy rights without unlawful discrimination.

IB Global Academy does not sell personal data.
